Jalen T. Jackson is a visual artist whose paintings explore African American culture, collective memory, and experiences. His paintings depict flashbacks of his childhood and other memories. Jackson began college as a Business Management student at North Carolina A&T State University. During his junior year, he enrolled in a painting class and rediscovered his love of art, which he had nurtured as a child growing up in Durham, NC. He received his BFA in Visual Arts from NC A&T State University in 2021 and has exhibited at The Harvey B. Gantt Museum, North Carolina Museum of Art, Wake Tech, Barton College, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and more. He was the inaugural HBCU Artist-in-Residence at Artspace in Raleigh, NC. He is now pursuing an MFA at UNC-Chapel Hill.
